Sofort AG solves the problem of online shoppers who want to pay for their purchases securely and conveniently without sharing their personal or financial data with third parties. Sofortüberweisung enables customers to use their own online banking credentials to initiate a direct bank transfer to the merchant. The merchant receives a real-time confirmation of the transaction and can ship the goods immediately. Customers do not need to register or create an account with Sofort AG, nor do they need to enter card details or remember passwords

Sofort AG was acquired by Klarna in 2014. Sofort AG became a subsidiary of Klarna and continued to operate under its own brand name.

Today, Sofort AG is part of Klarna’s open banking platform, which offers secure and easy online bank transfers powered by Klarna’s smoooth technology. The company serves over 35,000 online merchants and millions of customers across 13 markets in Europe.
